Confused

Hi. I'm having a great deal of trouble (and am not exactly HTML knowledgeable), with uploading the website I created using my Microsoft Word. I'm getting two different error messages, even though I've checked with my ISP to find out how things are to be entered, exactly. The error I'm getting, mostly, is:

12014 The Password was not allowed

and, sometimes (less frequently), as I attempt different things...

12007 The Server name or address could not be resolved.

Please respond, if you can, in layman's terms, in the simplest manner. I'm not a techie. I just need to know, in simple terms, how to resolve this. Thanks for any responses!

You can try:
- "Number of Threads" to 1 (Properties -> Advanced tab)
- check "Passive Mode" (Properties -> Advanced tab)

I hope these work, but if not, you might also want to try other freeware FTP client programs and you can find by Google searching "freeware FTP client".

Hi Yataka,

as you recommend searching for freeware does that mean EmFTP is discontinued? That's really bad. I haven't found a windows ftp-client that allows to edit files on the server with a hotkey and without annoying dialogs. Btw. EmEditor does not close its window anymore with Ctrl+E.

You can change this settings by unchecking EmEditor Tools menu > Customize > Window > Do Not Close Last Document By Selecting Close Command.

Thanks for your comments!
